 Pete

We are sad to announce the very sad news, the recent passing of

Lion Pete Ingamells.

Lion Pete passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on 13th October. Our thoughts are with Pete's wife, Iris, and his family.

Lion Graham knew Lion Pete very well and paid this tribute.

"Pete was a member of our club for nearly 9 years. He was always a very influential friend who supported us in every activity, and helped us to understand the importance of gaining corporate sponsorship in the Hook Village Show.

He worked hard for the Club in a constructive and friendly way and inspired us to think of our contribution to the lives of those who were less fortunate than ourselves. One thing is for certain – he was very passionate in matters that were important to him on a personal level and he was not afraid to speak up when he thought that our decision making was flawed! Like those of us who had the pleasure of working with Pete,

I will miss him greatly for his humour, support in both a practical and professional way, friendship, and his kindness to all of those he helped along life's sometimes difficult path."

Energy Poverty You Can Help Those In Need

Energy poverty is defined as a household that spends more than 10% of its income keeping their home at a reasonable temperature.

Hook & Odiham Lions are working closely with local agencies to help relieve the suffering by supporting those in need.

You can help Hook & Odiham Lions to support those locally who cannot afford to heat their homes this winter by donating whatever you can so they do not have to choose between Eating or Heating.

Have you considered leaving a legacy in your Will?

Our work is dependent upon donations raised through our various fund raising activities. Leaving a legacy in your Will can make a long lasting difference to our activities in the local community.

You don't have to be wealthy to leave a gift in your Will. Whatever the gift, large or small, will be gratefully received.

For those wanting to leave a charitable gift in their Will it is important to consider this as part of your Estate planning. Making a charitable gift may under certain conditions reduce any inheritance tax (IHT) liability. Guidance on this can be found on the HMRC website,

last-will v2

We cannot give any specific advice on how to create a legacy and we strongly advise you to engage a Solicitor to ensure that your wishes are set out as you require.

When making a Will, or codicil, please be sure to use our full legal name.
Hook Odiham and Hartley Wintney Lions Club (CI0), Registered Charity number 1176812.
